The Importance of Responsible Water Usage

Safe Water

Water is our most valuable natural resource, covering most of the Earth's surface and supporting diverse ecosystems. Essential to life, it influences every aspect of our daily lives. However, due to pollution, safe water is rarely available naturally and must often be treated and filtered for human use.

We take it for granted, rarely questioning how it arrives in our homes. Proper management and conservation are crucial as it is a finite resource. Used by many industries and providing recreational benefits, water is our most recycled resource.
Valuing water highly, improving management practices, and conserving it is essential to ensure future generations enjoy its benefits. Clean water and pollution-free air are among the greatest legacies we can leave behind.

Water Balance

Water balance refers to the relationship between pH, total alkalinity, and calcium hardness. This balance is crucial for maintaining clear and safe pool water, preventing equipment damage, and ensuring ongoing user comfort.

Adding Chemicals

WARNING: Swimming pool chemicals can react dangerously when mixed or contaminated. Handle them carefully and use a separate, clean measuring device for each chemical.

3-Step System

Once the correct water balance has been established, there are three steps to complete in your chemical treatment routine. These ensure a healthy environment for relaxation.

Maintenance Parts

One of the key factors in keeping your pool clean and functional is the quality of its components. From the filtering system and skimmer box to the pumps and valves, each part plays a crucial role in maintaining the overall health of your pool system.

Cleaning Your Filters

Cleaning the cartridge is necessary once the pressure gauge reaches 50 kPa (kilopascals) above the normal start-up pressure or a maximum of 110 kPa. Regularly monitoring the pressure gauge and cleaning the filters is essential to maintain optimal filter performance. Dirty filters can reduce water flow, decrease filtration efficiency, and lead to poor water quality.

Cleaning Salt Cells

Salt chlorination is the most popular automatic method for sanitising pool water today. Although salt chlorination simplifies the sanitation process there are aspects that need monitoring. Most recently installed salt chlorinators are 'self-cleaning', however regular monitoring and possible cleaning of the cell plates within the system may still be necessary.

Spa Care & Control

Successful spa control is achieved by monitoring and adjusting water balance, sanitation, and filtration to suit the spa's bathing load, contamination, and temperature settings.

Each component of the treatment programme supports the others in maintaining a clean and healthy bathing environment. Proper spa care, including regular cleaning and maintenance of the spa surfaces and equipment, is essential to prevent the transfer of bacteria and viruses between spa users. Together, these practices make hydrotherapy a beneficial and relaxing activity for the whole family.

Spa Chemicals

WARNING: Spa chemicals can react dangerously when mixed or contaminated. For safety, only use clean measuring devices when adding or adjusting chemicals. The specified dosage rates are recommendations only; test the water after each chemical addition to ensure correct adjustment.
